Departmental Parking Permits
Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) understands that FSU is a diverse commuting environment. Therefore, we are committed to helping you explore all available parking options so that you can make an informed decision that best meets your department’s needs.
Below you will find a description of each type of departmental placard and hang-tag available to University Departments:
Short-Term Placard
- FSU Departments are eligible to purchase this Placard.
- This placard allows parking in any 2-Hour Short Term Space (view map).
- This placard can be purchased each year for $23.
Service Vehicle Hang-Tag
- FSU Departments and campus vendors are eligible to purchase this hang-tag.
- This hang-tag allows parking in any Service Vehicle space on campus, as well as Loading Zones for 20 minutes.
- This hang-tag can be purchased each year for $65.
- The Service Vehicle hang-tag is not valid on state vehicles.
Loading Zone Hang-Tag
- FSU Departments and campus vendors are eligible to purchase this hang-tag.
- This hang-tag allows parking in any Loading Zones for 20 minutes.
- This hang-tag can be purchased each year for $21.
Departmental ‘RD’ Hang-Tag
- FSU Departments are eligible to purchase this hang-tag.
- This permit allows parking in non-gated Faculty/Staff spaces and Loading Zones for 20 minutes.
- This permit can be purchased each year for $232.56.
Please Note:
- Faculty, staff, and students are not eligible to purchase these permits. These permits cannot be used for personal reasons.*
- The costs of these permits are prorated on the 1st of each month throughout the school year.
- The permit fee is Non-Refundable.

*Please be advised that any department, departmental employee, or student who knowingly applies for, receives, or uses a parking placard or hang-tag by giving false information or under any other false pretenses shall be charged with false registration and fined $100.00 in accordance with our campus parking and traffic regulations. Any department representative who knowingly gives another person a placard or hang-tag to use fraudulently shall also be fined. All departments are expected to notify Transportation and Parking Services if a permit has been lost, stolen, or otherwise taken without permission.

Hosting an Event on Campus?
If your department is hosting an event on campus, we can work with you to provide parking for your guests!
What do I need for my request?
Complete and submit the following forms to TAPS-SpecialEvents@fsu.edu at least 48 hours in advance to guarantee space/lot availability:
- Special Event Form (Printable)
- ORDER FORM Purchase orders must be in place before Transportation and Parking Services can provide for event parking, lot/attendant reservations, or departmental parking permits. Federal Sponsored Research (FSR) departments cannot use funds 520,521, 523, and 524 for event parking reservations. How to complete a Purchase Order.
